Yes. Working with South Asian individuals and couples is the heart of my practice. Cultural nuance matters deeply in therapy, and understanding the specific pressures of family expectations, generational dynamics, immigration experiences, and the intersection of tradition and modern identity is central to the work I do. You won't have to translate your world for me.
Yes. This practice offers therapy for individuals, couples, and families. Individual therapy focuses on personal growth, healing, and self-discovery. Couples therapy addresses relationship dynamics, communication, and connection. Family therapy explores generational patterns, boundaries, and the often complex dynamics that come with South Asian family systems. Whatever brings you here, the work is tailored to your unique needs.
Yes. All sessions are conducted virtually via a HIPAA compliant video platform. This means you can access therapy from the privacy and comfort of your own space, wherever you are. For many clients, virtual therapy also removes a significant barrier- no commute, no waiting rooms, and no running into anyone you know. Just you, your therapist, and the work.
Honestly? If you're asking that question, therapy is probably right for you. Most people wait far longer than they should before reaching out and for many South Asian clients, that wait is measured in years, not months. You don't need to have everything figured out before your first session. That's what the free 20 minute consultation is for- a simple, no pressure conversation to see if we click and whether this feels like the right space for you.
Think of the first session as a conversation, not an interview. You won't be handed a list of questions or asked to have everything figured out. We'll talk about what's been going on, what's brought you to this point, and where you'd like to go from here. There's no wrong way to show up to a first session. You just have to show up. The rest we figure out together.
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, and if anyone tells you otherwise, be skeptical. The length of therapy depends on what you're working through, how deeply you want to explore it, and what your goals are. For some clients that's a few months. For others it's a year or more. As high achievers, it can be tempting to treat therapy like a project with a deadline. The work tends to go better when you let go of that particular expectation.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which helps build momentum and continuity early in the process. As the work progresses and goals are met, some clients choose to move to biweekly or even monthly sessions. Life gets busy, especially for professionals managing demanding careers and family obligations, so we can adjust the frequency together based on what works best for you. Consistency, however, tends to make a significant difference in the progress you experience.
A 24 hour cancellation and rescheduling policy is in place for all sessions. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to the full session fee. Rescheduling requests are happily accommodated based on available appointment slots. This policy exists to ensure that every client — including you — has access to consistent, protected time.
